Donation from the Everglades Bike Club

In July of 2011, BikeSafe received a very generous donation from the Everglades Bike Club’s Daniella Izquierdo Injured Cyclist Fund. From this donation, BikeSafe acquired 12 brand new youth ..

Recent accomplishments

  • The BikeSafe educational program has been shown to improve middle school-aged childrens' knowledge of basic bicycle safety concepts and skills.
  • Through the School Traffic Survey, BikeSafe conducts travel mode surveillance by collecting data on students' modes of transportation to and from school on an annual basis.
  • The Neighborhood Pedestrian Watch initiative of WalkSafe (BikeSafe's sister program) has been shown to decrease the speed of vehicles in school zones and to mitigate adverse driving behaviors by more than 20%.
